Family Fun for Christmas

So I guess the easiest way to describe it is that I’m really enjoying my Nikon D90. The HD video it takes isn’t that bad either. Hope you enjoy this little video. Can you tell my brother is in sales or that my mom hates being on video? Love you mom! It was nice to spend some time with the family and record some of the memories especially considering in just a few days from now I’ll be moving out of state and not seeing family on such a regular...

What Was I Thinking: Moving to a Winter Wonderland?

I’m in the airport ready to travel back home to Duncan from quite an interesting last few days.  If you have been following the hash on twitter #kj-boston you already know some about the amazing trip getting there, but if not let me just give you a quick recap.  This was simply supposed to be a painless few day trip up to Boston to secure an apartment to live for the move on January 2nd. See What Wuz Supposed To Happen… Originally the plan was to leave midday Saturday and apartment shop Sunday & Monday make a decision and leave on Tuesday.  Simple enough?  Well…  not exactly. The winter blizzard that I left earlier in the week coming back from CASE V and that had blessing me with the opportunity to spend a restless night in the Charlotte...

ReadWriteWeb… Really!? I’m Not Worthy

I don’t know how I didn’t pick up on this yesterday, but me going to HubSpot was picked up on ReadWriteWeb’s JobWire.  So yeah right there after a major Microsoft hiring and before Simply Hired names a Senior VP is KYLE JAMES!  So not only is that really cool, but picked up some good backlinks…  always looking at the SEO side of things.

So for a blogger like myself… well this is simply AWESOME excitement!  I wrote Rick back with a proposal as follows. Kyle Moving To Boston Series I’m going to blog the adventures of my move on this site and after arriving we can look at the content and decide how best to put it together for a blog post on the HubSpot Blog. They bought it so here we go. Their corporate blog has over 5,600 RSS Subscribers today so talk about an sizable audience.  So hopefully you will subscribe to this blog if you don’t already to follow the adventures.  I plan on creating all kinds of interest crazy content and I hope...

Twitter… You Overwhelm Me

This morning I announced to my friends on Twitter that I’m leaving Wofford and moving to Boston to go full time with HubSpot and the response was… well it was overwhelming.  I honestly spent the entire morning just responding to the everyone. I truly am blessed by such a wonderful community of friends.  I wrote a more detailed explanation today over on .eduGuru, but I wanted to tell everyone on twitter Thank you one final time. It has been a pleasure getting to know everyone and I look forward to growing our friendship going...

Give A Child The Gift of Education for Christmas

So it’s always a challenge of what to give my parents for Christmas.  Yes it’s easy to go with the easy stuff like a new hat, a book, lotions, etc but dang it if I don’t like being a little more creative than that.  So what do you give to someone who already has everything that they need?  How about getting something for a less fortunate person and putting it in their name?  PERFECT! Me being the technology guy that I am it makes sense for me to give a tech toy.  My first computer type machine was given to me by my Uncle for christmas when I was like six.  It was a Tandy Color Computer II.  When I was eight I got a Nintendo and that was the thing that really changed my life and made me into the tech guy I am today.  Finally when I was...
