Newest Pet Project: Foursquare Badge Guide

I’ve been playing around with foursquare for a few weeks now and have to say that it’s quite addicting little game.  What makes it so much fun is because of all the reasons that twitter was initially fun.  It’s not overpopulated, yet, and all the people that I follow are mostly in Boston so it’s people that are local.  The most addicting part of the tool is the badges that you can acquire by doing certain things and checking into certain locations. Think of these badges like achievement points that you would get while playing games on your Xbox 360.  The more badges that you collect the more locations that you have been to and bragging rights that you have.  One way that I’m a little anal is that I want to be the best at whatever I...

10 Things I Miss About South Carolina

This past weekend I took a wonderful trip back to South Carolina for some R&R.  I’m also about to be a first time uncle as my younger brother is about to have his first child.  I thought it was scary enough when my younger brother got married before me, but now he’s about to have a kid.  I remember back when I used to drive him to school every day or even further back when we used to play Contra in the yard squirting evil alien bushes with our water guns! Man I’m OLD! So while I was home I started tweeting “Things I miss about South Carolina.”  This list built to ten things so just in case you missed out, here was my list. The warm weather, even the humidity. How cheap everything is, especially food and clothes (yes, I went clothes shopping). The sweat tea! ...

Forget a White Christmas When You Can Have a White Birthday!

So today was my birthday. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not much of a birthday person. In fact I usually try to sneak by another birthday without anyone noticing. So although I flew back to South Carolina for a long weekend it was more to see friends and fill out some loose ends in the move to Boston instead of a social calling. It was great to see the family and some friends in South Carolina, but to prove my point today, my birthday, was suppose to be filled with travel as I make the 1,000 mile trip back to Boston. Still this being my lifestream I have to document the adventures of the day somewhere. White Birthday In March… In South Carolina So we had a gigantic snow storm come through last night and today which really did a number on...

Family Fun for Christmas

So I guess the easiest way to describe it is that I’m really enjoying my Nikon D90. The HD video it takes isn’t that bad either. Hope you enjoy this little video. Can you tell my brother is in sales or that my mom hates being on video? Love you mom! It was nice to spend some time with the family and record some of the memories especially considering in just a few days from now I’ll be moving out of state and not seeing family on such a regular...

What Was I Thinking: Moving to a Winter Wonderland?

I’m in the airport ready to travel back home to Duncan from quite an interesting last few days.  If you have been following the hash on twitter #kj-boston you already know some about the amazing trip getting there, but if not let me just give you a quick recap.  This was simply supposed to be a painless few day trip up to Boston to secure an apartment to live for the move on January 2nd. See What Wuz Supposed To Happen… Originally the plan was to leave midday Saturday and apartment shop Sunday & Monday make a decision and leave on Tuesday.  Simple enough?  Well…  not exactly. The winter blizzard that I left earlier in the week coming back from CASE V and that had blessing me with the opportunity to spend a restless night in the Charlotte...

ReadWriteWeb… Really!? I’m Not Worthy

I don’t know how I didn’t pick up on this yesterday, but me going to HubSpot was picked up on ReadWriteWeb’s JobWire.  So yeah right there after a major Microsoft hiring and before Simply Hired names a Senior VP is KYLE JAMES!  😀 So not only is that really cool, but picked up some good backlinks…  always looking at the SEO side of...
